Brief Description
Coloured lithographic print, titled, "THE POLITICAL DRAMA. NO. 101", depicting the 'Tories' playing cricket against the 'whigs' at Lords; seven men playing cricket and talking, with an elderly lady sitting watching. The cricket ball is inscribed with text, reads, "PROPELL'D / BY / SECRET / AGENCY". Spectators and a tent are in the background. Inscription underneath reads, "THE LORDS AGAINST ALL ENGLAND. / OR A SLAP-UP MATCH BETWEEN THE TORIES FOR CORRUPTION, AND THE WHIGS FOR REFORM, AT THE LORDS CRICKET GROUND. THE BETTING IN FAVOUR OF THE WHIGS". Cream windowmount, black and gold wooden frame. Piece of paper on reverse reads, "ANTHONY BAER COLLECTION 1962 / NO.386".
