Brief Description
Hand-coloured etching of a cricket match at Repton School in Derbyshire. The image shows a side-on view of the wicket with nine cricketers visible. Several spectators watch from the boundary, most sitting in front of a thatched pavilion on the left of the picture. Beyond the playing field are the historic school buildings and church at Repton. The title is printed l.r. below the image "Repton - 'Spire and School' - from the Cricket Field". Written on the image, l.r. "F.P. Barraud" and written on the image l.l. 'F.G. Stevenson Sculpt.'. Printed immediately below image, l.l., 'Printed by F.P. Barraud'; and immediately below the image l.r., printed 'Etched by F.G. Stevenson'.
