Brief Description
Hand-coloured print of a cricket match at Rugby, an English public school. The match is taking place on an oval enclosed by trees on the left side and buildings on the far side. The cricketers are wearing whites and the fielding side have blue caps and belts. Around the boundary to the left are clusters of tiny figures. In the foreground are three boys wearing blazers and boater hats, and seven grown-ups - three men in suits and top hats and three women with elaborate dresses and headgear. Details of the publisher are printed above the image, "London Published Dec 2 1889 by Messrs. Dickinson & Foster, Publishers to The Queen, 114 New Bond Street W, Copyright Registered". Below image is further handwritten text, at lower left, "H. James Brooks"; and at lower right, "Frederick Hunt".
