Brief Description
Chromolithograph, full-length caricature portrait of Lord Harris (cricketer) as "Kent", against a light blue background, with grass and shadows at his feet. Harris stands in contraposto profile to his left, leaning his right hand against the top of a cricket bat. He wears a white shirt with sleeves rolled up; tan pants; brown shoes; a red, yellow and blue striped tie and waist sash and a blue peaked cap with a white horse emblem. The pseudonym of the artist Leslie "SPY" Ward is printed diagonally at lower left of the image, opposite which is reproduced Harris' signature. Inscription printed below the border of the image reads "KENT" and lower left "Vincent Brooks, Day & Son Lith.'. Inscription above the image at top left reads VANITY FAIR and above right, the date JULY 16 1881. A small depiction of a crown in black also appears at top right of the image. Item has "M6209.3" crossed out on reverse.
