Brief Description
Reproduction of a full-length, caricature portrait of the Rev. F.H. Gillingham, English Test cricketer, in an action shot at the batting crease. His signature is reproduced at the bottom right of the image, with the pseudonym of the artist, Leslie 'Spy' Ward, printed near the batting crease. The item appears to have been personally signed in ink, bottom left below the image. A caption reads 'Cricketing Christianity'; l.l. 'Bemrose Dalziel Ltd, Watford & London'. Text above left reads 'VANITY FAIR Supplement', and below right '(The Rev. F.H. Gillingham)'. Hinge-mounted on white foam board with cream window mount.
