Brief Description
Colour lithograph portrait of nineteenth-century English cricketer George Parr. The portrait shows a man wearing cricket whites, blue neckerchief and top hat standing upright and holding a cricket bat in his right hand. In the background are hills and a marquee. Beneath the image is printed "Sketches at Lords. No. 10 / John C. Anderson del at lith / GEORGE PARR / Born at Radcliff, near Nottingham, 1826 Height 5ft. 9in./ London. Published by John Corbet Anderson 40 Church Road de Beauvoir Square Kingsland, March 1st 1852 / and by F Lillywhite, 10 Princes Terrace, Caledonian Road, Islington."
