Brief Description
Print of an engraving, black ink on white paper. Shows a group of buildings arranged around a circular path, with small groups of boys on the lawn in front, playing at hoops, marbles, and cricket, one boy talking to a man in a cloak. Print underneath reads in part "To the Warden and Governors of/ THE FREE GRAMMAR SCHOOL OF QUEEN ELIZABETH OF THE PARISHES OF ST. OLAVE AND ST. JOHN, SOUTHWARK. / This View of the School recently erected in Bermondsey Street, / Is inscribed by their obedient humble servants/ The Publisher". Immediately below image, l.l. "Lith.d & Printed by G.E. Madeley, 3 Wellington St., Strand'; centre 'Published Nov. 11th 1835, by J. Robins & Sons, 57 Tooley Street, Southwark'; l.r., 'Jas. Field, Archt'.
