Brief Description
Handbill, black ink on yellowed paper, reads in part "A/ Grand Cricket Match,/ BETWEEN/ Eleven Women of Surry, and/ Eleven of Hampshire,/ MADE BY TWO NOBLEMEN, FOR/ 500 GUINEAS... will be played at/Newington Green,/ Near Ball's Pond, Middlesex, /"On Wednesday next, the 2d of October, 1811,/ and Two following Days.". The handbill lists the players names for each county and their playing colours. Printer details "Russell, Printer, Old change, London". M6462.1 & M6462.2 were originally mounted together in a single frame.
