Brief Description
Print, coloured ink on off-white paper. Paper has been affixed onto a card backing, which in turn is housed in a hinged windowmount. Picture features two women with a child tossing a ball. The woman on the left casually leaning on a curved cricket bat, the woman on the right holding a rifle in the crook of one arm, and holding up a brace of pheasants with the other hand. She also steps on a piece of paper with the word "Effeminacy" on it. Print underneath reads in part "MISS WICKET and MISS TRIGGER./ Mifs TRIGGER you fee is an excellent SHOT. And forty five Notches Mifs WICKET'S just got./ 276 From the Original Picture by John Collet, in the possession of Carington Bowles/ Printed for Carington Bowles, No. 69 in St. Pauls Church Yard, London. Published as the Act directs, 1 Jan. 1778." Plate stamp is visible around the picture and text.
