Object Detail
Brief Description
Ink drawing in black on white paper with blue pencil shading. The title across the top reads "ENGLAND FACES THE DON (PARDON) DAWN", with a picture of Don Bradman's face in the rising sun below. The sun is rising over a cricket pitch with the word "HEADINGLEY" along it, with a lion at the end dressed in cricketing whites standing next to a trap with a cricket ball in it. A sign attached to the trap reads "LEG TRAP / Will he get caught again?", and the picture is signed by WELLS. It is clamp mounted in a beige window mount, which hides the alternate title "More Yorkshire pudding for Don?", written in pencil. Stamped verso "Herald 22 July 1948".
