Brief Description
Colour mezzotint depicting a young boy standing in a garden near a large tree and three-stump wicket, with hands rested on top of a large cricket bat. The boy has fair, curly hair; long blue jacket with gold buttons; white ruffled shirt; gold/ brown waistcoat; brown knee breeches / trunk hose; white stockings and black shoes. The image is framed by a line border which is part of the mezzotint. The publisher's name appears along the top of the image reads, "Copyright 1922 by G.C. Klackner, New York"; and, "Published 1922 by G.C.Klackner, London". Below the image l.l. a Printsellers Association stamp with embossed oval, "YZR". Below the image l.r. a lead pencil signature, which is indecipherable. White paper or card mount; black painted wooden frame with gold painted detailed recess. Inscription in biro on cardboard of verso reads, "A. BAER COLLECTION 1965 / NO. 699 / signed A. Baer". Also verso label with '63' in black ink and white label with handwritten inscription, "MS1048 / M51048".
