Brief Description
Pencil drawing, mainly grey on white with small amounts of colour; artist is J.S. Alpenny. Drawing depicts a young boy and girl wearing 19th century dress: the boy in white pants, short jacket and waistcoat and the girl in white dress with apron and large mutton-leg sleeves. They are standing in a clearing, with the boy holding a bat and the girl hiding a small pouch. Drawing is signed and dated l.l. corner of image "J.S. Alpenny Dec. 31 1835" with centre text reading under the boy "I am sure you have got the ball..."; text continues under the girl "Perhaps I have". The paper is stuck onto a piece of cardboard which has tabs at the top for mounting.
