Brief Description
Multi-coloured oil painting of a Victorian scene of a large grassy expanse, the sky suggesting late afternoon. A cricket match is being played in the distant background, with the focus on the spectators. They are playing games, having a picnic, and other activities but mainly not watching the match. The wood frame is ornately carved and painted gold. Verso handwritten on the frame, "Baer Collection 1962 no. 13". Parker Gallery label lower centre. Handwritten on the canvas in white chalk "604". White label/security sticker l.r., "MS1165 (M51165)".
