Brief Description
Watercolour painting of boys playing cricket on a field, with buildings and a rural landscape beyond. The boys all wear frilled shirts with high collars, and vests. Two wear long trousers and the other breeches. On the far side of the playing field is a fence, and beyond that buildings in a valley. In the background are low hills and trees. An inscription below the image reads: "A VIEW TAKEN FROM THE PLAY GROUND OF ASPLEY SCHOOL, BEDFORDSHIRE". In l.r.c. below image "John Yeatherd Delint. / 1807". The painting is housed in a cream window mount, behind glass in a black and gold painted frame. verso white label/security label written in pencil & crossed out "M51221".
