Brief Description
Watercolour and pencil portrait of a boy in cream pants and collarless shirt, facing right, holding a cricket ball in his right hand, resting his left hand on his belt. Visible in the background are a tent to the right, and trees and branches to the left, below which is the artist's handwritten signature and date in pencil "Maryann Griddle/1850". Cream windowmount with title cut into the mount "Portrait of a Boy Cricketer / Mary A. Griddle 1850". The artwork is in a black and gold wooden frame. Verso framer's label and white label/security label l.r.c. "97650".
