Brief Description
Framed full-length watercolour portrait of an unidentified young boy in black suit, white shirt and vest, and black bow tie with long tails, standing holding cricket bat with right hand while his left hand rests on a raised grassy hillock. A peaked cap lies near his feet. Pastoral landscape in background. Black border has been painted around edges, possibly on underside of glass. Signature of artist has been inscribed in pink paint at far lower right corner, possibly A. STUN (or ASTON?). Heavy, multi-tiered, black and gold wooden frame. Inscription on reverse in black biro reads, "ANTHONY BAER COLLECTION 1961 / No 55". Writing on reverse are two white labels "116" and "M51052".
