Brief Description
Half-length portrait of a man [V.S. Ransford] sitting holding a pen with nib and writing at a desk. The image is on a green background. The artist's signature is bottom left. The painting is housed in a moulded, gilded, wooden frame, and is glazed. A plaque attached to the frame below the image is inscribed 'V.S. RANSFORD O.B.E./ SECRETARY 1939-1957/ Artist: Rex Bramleigh'. Vernon Ransford played cricket for Victoria from 1903/4 to 1927/8, and for Australia from 1907/8 to 1911/12. He was Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1910.
