Brief Description
Three-quarter length portrait of a male standing with his left hand in his jacket pocket and right hand on a table. The man is turned to give a three-quarter view. A book resting on the table - entitled INDEPENDENT COMPANY - was authored by CALLINAN, the subject of the painting. The painting is housed in a gilded, wooden frame. A plaque on the frame bears the printed inscription 'SIR BERNARD CALLINAN C.B.E. D.S.O./ PRESIDENT 1980-1985/ Artist: Bryan Westwood'. Bernard Callinan was elected as a MCC Committee member in 1966 and as Vice-President in 1978.
