Brief Description
Stevengraph pure silk woven picture. Set in brown card window mount with gold around cut out centre edge. Titled, "The First Over". Features cricket match being played on open field. Large crowd of onlookers stand around edge. Marquees and foliage nearby. Players wear coloured tops, white trousers and caps. Umpire dressed in black. On mount under image "Woven in silk by Thomas Stevens, Inventor and Manufacturer, Coventry and London, (Registered)". On reverse, inventor's and manufacturers details with image of factory and awards. Originally in a black painted and metal frame.
