Object Detail
Brief Description
Framed piece of material (either a large handkerchief or a scarf), with an image screened onto it with the title "A CRICKET MATCH BETWEEN SUSSEX AND KENT". The scene is a cricket match in progress on an oval, all players wearing top hats and whites. The crowd is almost exclusively men in suits (short, tails, waistcoat), but there is a small girl standing at the front holding a bat. The print has a limited colour range: greyish green, yellow and purple; and an orangish-brown colour. The frame is ornate and painted black with gold highlights, with glass and a wooden back.
