Brief Description
Modern reproduction of an eighteenth-century colour print titled "The LAWS of the NOBLE GAME of CRICKET, / as Eftablifhed at the Star and Garter Pall-Mall by a Committee of Noblemen & Gentlemen". In the upper section, an illustration of a cricket match occupies an oval-shaped window. The picture gives a side-on view of the pitch, showing an underarm bowler, two batsmen holding curved bats, ten fielders, two umpires and two spectators in the foreground, and in the background trees, a gate and low hills. Below the title are written the laws, divided into eleven sections. Under the illustration are publication details, including the date - 1788.
