Brief Description
Twelve blocks of wood screwed together to form a large printing block. Features an engraving of the Surrey cricketer Heathfield Stephenson, posing with a bat and wicket. Engraver's name features, in reverse, at lower left corner. Verso "Stephenson" written in two different hands. Also verso 1987 Christie's auction label "Lot395/2". Another label with handwritten "H.H. Stephenson c.186- [3?]". Stamped into a l.l. woodblock "Williamson & Son/Picket Place/Strand".
