Brief Description
Large dark wood shield with raised centrepiece constructed of a metal plate on wood, featuring the M.C.C. emblem at top, beneath which is debossed AUTUMN DOUBLES / CHAMPIONSHIP / PRESENTED BY / GEOFFREY SYME, ESQ. Engraving on stylised metal banner affixed above centrepiece reads MELBOURNE / CRICKET CLUB and below, LTC. Five small silver half-balls affixed to the shield surround the centrepiece, each detailing the names of the winning doubles teams, as follows: J.B. HAWKES / P. O'HARA WOOD / 1926; G.L. PATTERSON / R.C. WERTHEIM / 1927; P. O'HARA WOOD / R.E. SCHLESINGER / 1928; P. O'HARA WOOD / J.B. HAWKES / 1929; P. O'HARA WOOD / J.B. HAWKES / 1930.
