Brief Description
Bronze figurine with raised base. Image of a young mid. 19th century cricketer resting on the grass with a cricket bat held under his left arm. On the front side of the base is the inscription: 'Waiting his innings'. On the top of the base, behind the figure, is inscribed: 'J. Durham Sc./1863'. Joseph Durham was a prolific English sculptor from the 19th century. This sculpture is one in a series of works dating from 1863. Label on base "James Bourlet & Sons Ltd" "H19286".
