Brief Description
Small conical cup, with stem opening out to form the base. Inscription on obverse reads: 'ROUEN RECREATION COMMITTEE/CRICKET SEASON 1917./WINNERS OF/THE ROUEN BASE FINAL.'. Replica of cup awarded to the Australian military cricket squad after winning an Allied Forces competition held in Rouen, France in 1917. This replica was presented to Sergeant Dudley Blazey, an M.C.C. member, for his contribution to the Australian win. Maker's assay marks on reverse show the item was manufactured by 'GH' in Sheffield, 1917.
