Object Detail

Brief Description
Eighteenth-century miniature print of five figures playing cricket, titled, "Boys at Cricket". Two figures carry curved bats, one facing an underarm bowler, and standing in front of two stumps. A figure in the foreground is carrying an implement in each hand, suggesting he is the scorer. The image is numbered "136" in the top-right corner, suggesting it was part of a series which has been cut out from a book. The print has been roughly coloured in by hand. It is stuck to a piece of brown backing card. Writing on reverse reads "9B".
