Brief Description
Colour lithograph portrait of English cricketer George Griffith. The figure is shown full-length, standing with one hand on his hip, the other holding a cricket bat. He is wearing cricket whites, bow tie and cap. In the background is a marquee with flag flying from the top, and beyond are trees, with a church spire emerging above. Below the image are printed the names of the draughtsman, lithographer, publisher and printer, and the title of the work, "GEORGE GRIFFITH / Born at Ripley, Surrey Dec. 20th 1833". The print is loosely mounted behind white card with green trim. Writing on reverse reads "VI (or VII) 4".
