Brief Description
Full-length portrait of English cricketer Thomas Hearne. The colour lithograph shows a figure standing with one hand rested on his hip, and the other holding the handle of a cricket bat. He is wearing cricket whites, a dark-coloured neckerchief and cap. The portrait is set outside in an open field, with a marquee in the background, and beyond that a cottage with fence surrounding it. Details of the draughtsman, publisher and printer are below the image as is the title, "T. HEARNE / BORN AT CHALFONT, St PETER'S, BUCKS, SEP 4th 1826". The print is loosely mounted behind white card. Writing on reverse reads "VIII 3; 14".
