Brief Description
Nineteenth-century depiction of an eighteenth-century cricket match, showing players wearing waistcoats and breeches, using curved bats and an underarm bowling action. In the foreground are two groups of spectators including women in voluminous dresses and a man wearing a tricorn hat. Beyond the cricketers is a wooden fence, behind which are several buildings, including two very strange, geometric structures. The image is surrounded by a simple line border, under which is printed the caption "CRICKET IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY - WHITE CONDUIT FIELDS"., Writing on reverse reads "3"and "1216".
