Brief Description
Etched illustration of a cricket game, showing two batsmen, a fielder whose hat has been knocked off by the ball, and a group of spectators in the background. Beyond the spectators is a marquee with a flag flying from it bearing the words, "DINGLEY DELL / AND / ALL-MUGGLETON". A church spire is in the distance. The name of the artist is printed below the image, "Drawn & Etch'd by RW Buss" and "page 69". The image illustrates a scene from the Pickwick Papers (chapter 7) by Charles Dickens, published in instalments between 1836 and 1837. Writing on reverse reads "4".
