Brief Description
Cricket bat with sealed, spliced blade and twine-bound handle. The rear of the bat features a silver shield bearing the engraved inscription TO JOHN MR BLACKHAM / HIGHEST AVERAGE / CARLTON IMPERIAL C.C. / SEASON 1868. On the face is a faint inscription reading WHEN 13 YEARS OLD. The maker's mark EDWARD J PAGE is imprinted on the front and reverse.
