Brief Description
One of fifteen cheques paid to players during the Australian Test Cricket Team's tour of England in 1890. This cheque for £5, issued through 'The Australian Joint Stock Bank', is numbered 66697, and dated 10 Sept 1890. It has been co-signed by H F Boyle, the Team Manager on the tour, and by another (possibly player C T B Turner), with an inscription handwritten in ink that reads, "Australian XI a/c". The cheque features a coat-of-arms with emu and kangaroo faintly printed near the left edge, and a red one penny 'stamp' near the date, top right.
