Object Detail

Brief Description
Team photograph - on an off-white mount - of cricketers in whites. A number are wearing caps; two can be seen wearing sashes and one wearing a belt. One man is wearing a dark jacket and black hat; one cricketer is sitting on the ground in front of Dr WG Grace who is in the centre of the front row. A handwritten inscription in blue ink at the top of the mount reads 'GLOUCESTERSHIRE'. There are illegible pencilled inscriptions below the image. Some names and dates are handwritten on the reverse but their order in relation to the figures is ambiguous, and their spelling is uncertain. Names include Kitcat (?) 1892-1904, Smith (scorer), Grace 1870-1899, AJH Luard (?) 1892-1909, JH Board, WA Woof 1978-1902, W Murch 1889-1903.
