Brief Description
Group portrait of the Australian cricket team during the 1888 tour of England. The photograph was taken in Oxford, where the Australians played Oxford University on 17-19 May, winning the match by an innings and 19 runs. Thirteen men are shown, eleven of them wearing cricket whites, striped blazers, and caps, the other two in suits and bowler hats. The photograph is mounted on dark-coloured board with gilded edges, with the name and details of the photographer embossed below.
