Brief Description
Black and white photograph featuring a group portrait of the English Cricket Team dressed in whites. They are positioned in three rows, seated and standing, with four holding cricket bats and two holding cricket balls, in front of a weatherboard wall. The handwritten inscription, in blue ink on the reverse, reads ENGLAND TEAM - AUSTRALIA - 1881/82, with the names of the team members. A number of these have been 'corrected' in pencil. Back row, standing: Barlow, Lillywhite, Midwinter, Shrewsbury, Peate. Middle row, seated: Bates, Emmett, Shaw (capt), Pilling, Ulyettt. Front row: Selby, Scotton.
