Brief Description
Cricket bat, featuring sealed, spliced blade with twine bound handle covered with bitumen and black rubber grip. The Gunn and Moore Ltd manufacturer's mark is twice stamped on the front by the shoulder. Inscription below, handwritten in ink, reads THIS BAT WAS USED / BY / W H POSFORD / IN MAKING 229 RUNS / NOT OUT / V CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY / AND 289 NOT OUT V MCC / 1934. The blade has been signed by various English and Australian cricket players in ink, with the lower part bound with cloth strips.
