Brief Description
Cricket bat, featuring sealed, spliced blade with black tape bound handle. The makers mark ESSEX BAT CO is twice stamped on the face, with JUNIOR / SELECTED / AUSTRALIAN WILLOW & CANE/ WARTIME MANUFACTURE below. The inscription on the back below the remnants of a red wax seal reads LOTS OF RUNS (?) JOHN / DENIS COMPTON,/ EVERYONE A BOUNDARY, BILL EDRICH, and signatures including those of Dick Pollard , [?], W. Voce , J. Langridge , and Godfrey Evans
