Brief Description
Cricket ball with engraved silver band around seam. Inscription on band reads: 'AUSTRALIAN TEAM v SURREY. (OVAL)./MAY 15. 1899./PRESENTED BY SURREY COUNTY CRICKET CLUB/TO W. P. HOWELL./All ten wickets in first innings'. Howell, bowling for Australia, achieved an outstanding 10/28, with 14 maidens, after only 23.2 overs.
