Brief Description
Photograph of a ceramic bowl sitting on a small plinth. The bowl is painted, and the visible side has seven figures in three groups. To the left two seated women, in the centre a woman on a swing being pushed by a man with another man in the background, to the right a seated woman in front of whom is a figure on their knees. Writing on reverse reads, "2158"; "3E"; and "2". It also includes photographers stamp, "Crown Copyright Reserved / Negative no.X1755". Inscription also attached which reads, "Swinging on the rope after an engraving: The Second Part of Youthful Diversions, published by J.Cole, 7th March 1739".
