Brief Description
Blue tie featuring a gold motif between two diagonal bands, each comprising of a red and white stripe. The motif features the Melbourne Cricket Club monogram surrounded by a wreath, beneath which, is a ribbon with the inscription: '50 YEARS'.This tie belonged to Sir Edmund Herring, a Melbourne Cricket Club member. It is a tie for members who have belonged for 50 years or more. Herring was given special membership of the MCC in 1909-10 because he was an outstanding schoolboy cricketer. He later became Victoria's Lieutenant-Governor and Chief Justice.
