Brief Description
Metal and enamel lapel badge with red leather presentation case issued by the Cricket Association of Bengal. Badge is circular with a protruding ribbon design at the top which reads "AUSTRALIAN TOUR/ 1945/ 1946". Etched in the centre of the ribbon design is two cricket bats crossed in front of a wicket and a ball in front. Outer ring of badge is dark blue enamel with the inscription "CRICKET ASSOCIATION OF BENGAL" inside. Centre circle is divided in half. Top half has light blue enamel background with a gold metal tiger in the center. Lower half has dark grey enamel background with metal ship in center. Back of badge has protruding crescent shape for attaching the badge through a button hole. Presentation case features red leather with gold painted lines along the sides and the inscription "CAB/ 1945-46" painted in the centre. Inside is lined with white satin imprinted with maker's details and an in-built purple felt mount for badge.
