Brief Description
Presentation cricket bat with varnished, spliced blade, the front of which bears a small silver plaque. This has been engraved with the inscription, "PRINCE OF WALES CLUB / CRICKET / PRESENTED TO / JAMES HORAN / BEING HIGHEST AVERAGE / BATSMAN FOR SEASON / 1865-1866". The reverse features the imprinted inscriptions, "1970 RED / 1971 RED / 1972 BROWN / 1973 MAGENTA". The maker's mark, "AQUILA CLAPSHAW & SONS", is stamped on the front over the splice.
