Brief Description
Presentation cricket bat with varnished, spliced blade and twine-bound handle. The front of the blade has been imprinted with an inscription that reads, "PRESENTED / BY / A.COLES ESQ / TO / RICHARD EARL / FOR HIGHEST / BATTING AVERAGE / SEASON 1875-6 / MARYBOROUGH / DISTRICT CC". The maker's mark DUKE & SON has been stamped on the front and reverse by the shoulder.
