Brief Description
Black and white group photograph of 18 men, 9 in cricket uniform and 9 in suits, sitting and standing in front of a clubhouse with arched entrance, refectory windows and palms. Three men stand in the back row, 9 stand in front of them, 5 are seated on chairs in the second row, and one man reclines at front. Inscription on mount above image reads 'THE M.C.C. AUSTRALIAN XI. SHEFFIELD PARK 1886 / WEARING MELB.C.C. BLAZERS AND CAPS.' Inscribed in black ink beneath image are the players names and the results of the tests: 'TESTS PLAYED 3. LOST 3.' Cream / off-white window mount. Reg number inscribed bottom left reverse.
