Brief Description
1956 Australian Olympic Team kit bag used by water polo athlete, John Foster during the Games. The dark green vinyl bag features two handles and a full-length zipper with bright yellow piping around the edges. One of the side panels includes "J.FOSTER" hand etched into the surface, as well as a coloured Australian Coat of Arms within a silhouette of the Australian continent, with the surrounding text,"OLYMPIC TEAM / MELBOURNE / 1956". The opposite panel includes a green and grey coloured stamp reading "AUSTRALIAN OLYMPIC TEAM / OFFICIAL SPORTS OUTFITTERS / MELBOURNE SPORTS DEPOT."
