Brief Description
An unused winter Olympic torch, representing an icicle. The top section is made of glass, where a flame could be seen burning within, echoing the 2002 Olympic theme ''light the fire within.'' Inside the glass in a geometric copper structure, with the roman numerals, XIX, stamped on each section. A silver circular shape sits atop the copper structure with inscription, "SALT LAKE 2004 / OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES". The center torch section is made of silver and finished to look worn, and features the Salt Lake City Olympic logo with wording, "SALT LAKE / 2002" with olympic rings below. The Olympic theme is inscribed on the lower polished silver section, "LIGHT THE FIRE WITHIN." Two holes are visible either side of the upper section, these are used to detach the glass section. A drill hole is also visible, used to hold the torch in original frame.
