Brief Description
Victorian competition uniform; singlet and trousers, worn by San Davies during the Australian Gymnastic Championships in Sydney, 1951. The singlet is of navy blue cotton, overlocked hems of black thread with an applique white "V" in the centre. A label is sewn on the inside of the neck with; "AKM / AY.KAY.EM / 34". The pair of cream trousers feature front pleats, front and back pockets, a zip fly and waist band secured with buttons and extra buttons inside for adjustments. A large label on the inside right pocket reads, "FLETCHER JONES / TRADE MARK / QUALITY GARMENT" with an attached care instructions label, and "R6 DAVIES" handwritten in pen adjacent. A label on the inside left pocket reads, "SUPERDURABLE POCKETS" with Fletcher Jones trademark and "DAVIES" handwritten in pen adjacent.
