Object Detail
Brief Description
Three hinged wooden stumps that can be opened to reveal the signatures of various test cricketers from Australia, the West Indies and South Africa. The stumps and signatures were collected by Ian Johnson during the Australian tour of the West Indies in 1954-1955 and the Australian tour of South Africa in 1949-1950. The spikes of the stumps appear dirty, suggesting they have been used. Inside each stump, the Australian touring team member's signatures are listed on the left and the opposing team member's signatures are listed on the right.
