Brief Description
Key to the City of South Melbourne presented to Ian Johnson, 1983. The key and accompanying plaque are fixed to a geometrical block of dark wood. The ornate large key features a coloured City of South Melbourne crest. The metal plaque beneath reads, "KEY TO THE CITY / PRESENTED TO / IAN JOHNSON / IN RECOGNITION OF HIS CONTRIUBTION TO / THE SPORT OF CRICKET / CITY OF SOUTH MELBOURNE / CENTENARY YEAR 1883 - 1983". Verso features a makers sticker: "MADE TO APPROVED SPECIFICATIONS / BY LEGA PTY LTD / 13 HINKLER ROAD / MORDIALLOC 3195 VICTORIA / AUSTRALIA".
