Brief Description
Albert Broomham's Australian Rugby Football League velvet representative cap from 1909. Three panels and brim are red velvet, centre and two side panels are blue. Silver brocade tassel, corded ribbon and embroidered trimmings. The centre panel features embroidered "AUSTRALIA / RFL " and a kangaroo motif. "1909" on the brim. Inside is lined with silver coloured material with a stitched label inscribed: "MADE EXCLUSIVELY BY / UNION LABOR / UNION LABEL COOPERATIVE / TAILORS / 623 GEORGE STREET SYDNEY." Two identifying typed labels of "A.BROOMHAM" also on the inside.
